The finest next door neighbour you could ask for

Created by Adam 5 years ago

I had the privilege of growing up next door to Megan, who I always referred to as "Mrs H". She and Mr H were such lovely people and were always there for my family, letting them use their telephone in the small hours when there was a crisis, or grabbing the washing off the shared washing line when the rain started to fall.

Mrs H was always up for a natter and a laugh with me. We often used to joke at my parents expense, and many a Sunday morning was started with Meg and my Dad trading good humoured insults in our kitchen as he peeled spuds or chopped carrots.

I will always remember her jolly and laughing, often at some nonsense or other of village life, or some event that had occurred in the area. Up until the very last time I saw her she was simling and laughing. She couldn't have made more fuss of my kids if they were her own Grandchildren (they thought the world of "Mrs H" too, a little tear or two have been shed by both of them in the last week). What a lovely legacy she has- lots of people who loved her.
